Birmingham City: Manager Gary Rowett signs new rolling contract

Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett has signed a new one-year rolling deal with the club, BBC WM 95.6 understands.

Assistant boss Kevin Summerfield and coaches Mark Sale and Kevin Poole have also penned new deals at St Andrew's.

Rowett, 41, took charge of the Championship side in October 2014, taking Blues from 21st to 10th by the end of the season.

Birmingham are currently two points off the play-off places having won three of their last four league matches.

"We wanted to show our support and commitment to Gary, Kevin and his coaches for the work that has gone on," Birmingham director Panos Pavlakis told the club website., external

"These new contracts are a significant development in that respect. We have had a fantastic relationship with Gary since day one.

"He is very happy here and we share the same vision in continuing to move the team and the club forward."
