Hartlepool United 0-2 Exeter City

Exeter made it three League Two wins in a row with a hard-fought victory over Hartlepool in a game of few chances.

Alex Nicholls opened the scoring when he met Lee Holmes' cross and his header beat goalkeeper Trevor Carson.

Hartlepool's Nathan Thomas missed a good chance, pushing a low shot wide after a surge into the penalty area.

The Grecians doubled their lead late on with swift counter-attack seeing Nicholls cross for Joel Grant to sweep in off the underside of the crossbar.
