Irish Premiership: Carrick Rangers 2-1 Coleraine

Conor McCloskey scored both goals as Carrick Rangers beat Coleraine to move out of the bottom two places in the Irish Premiership.

The first goal came in the 24th minute when Gareth McKeown's long throw as flicked on and McCloskey pounced from close-range.

McCloskey got his second with a far-post header from a Miguel Chines corner on 69 minutes.

It was Carrick's first home game since the 31 October.

A number of matches at the Taylor's Avenue ground were postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

Carrick, who are due to host Dungannon Swifts on Tuesday night, now face a backlog of home matches.

Rangers manager Gary Haveron admitted they might have to play some games elsewhere to get the games cleared up before the Premiership splits at the end of March.

"At some stage the league will have to make a decision and if we have to move away from Taylor's Avenue that is what we will do," said Haveron.

"But at the moment, we are trying hard to play all our games on our own pitch.

"I said at the start of the season our home form will determine if we stay in this division."
