Nottingham Forest striker Matty Fryatt is still "nowhere near" returning from his Achilles injury, according to manager Dougie Freedman.

The 29-year-old, who has scored six goals in 26 games for the Reds, has not played for nearly 11 months.

Freedman is also without striker Britt Assombalonga, who has a knee injury.

"What a fantastic player he [Fryatt] would be to have right now, with his goalscoring record and his experience," Freedman told BBC Radio Nottingham.

"I am not a doctor so I cannot tell you the ins and outs of it but he doesn't look anywhere near training soon."
