Mark Hughes scored once for Stevenage

Defender Mark Hughes has left League Two club Stevenage by mutual consent.

The 29-year-old made 22 appearances for Teddy Sheringham's strugglers, scoring his only goal against Newport County in August after joining from Morecambe last summer.

Hughes' last match for Boro was on 28 December in a 3-1 league defeat by Dagenham.

He leaves a Stevenage side currently 19th in the fourth tier before Saturday's match at bottom club York.
