Plymouth signing Daniel Nardiello has targeted the fifth promotion of his career during his time at the club.

The 33-year-old joined the League Two high-flyers from Bury on Wednesday until the end of the season.

The former Manchester United trainee and Exeter player has gone up twice from the division in the last three seasons, with Rotherham and Bury.

"I think you need good team solidarity, no cliques, and everyone working hard to gain that promotion," he said.

"There are lots of factors to consider, first you obviously need a good manager who tries to play football the right way and Plymouth have got that now.

"I've come here to play football, hopefully score some goals and gain another promotion."

Nardiello scored in the 2006 League One play-off final to help Barnsley go up to the second tier.

He also scored against Plymouth at Home Park, external for their Devon rivals Exeter, back in 2010.

"I had a look when I realised I was coming down to sign and I've had good games against Plymouth in the past," Nardiello told BBC Radio Devon.

"Regardless of who I've played for before when someone comes knocking on your door asking you if you want to come down, especially the position they are in the league, it's a no-brainer really."
