Carrick Rangers to play three 'home' games at Seaview

Carrick Rangers will play their next three 'home' games at Seaview following nine postponements at the Belfast Loughshore Arena this season.

The move will allow work to continue on improving the Carrick pitch.

Rangers face Dungannon Swifts on Thursday night, with the league game moved back a day as the Crues meet Glenavon at Seaview on Friday.

An Irish Cup tie against Crumlin Star on Monday is followed by a Premiership clash with Warrenpoint on 19 February.

Carrick's home ground has struggled with waterlogging and Saturday's cup encounter with Crumlin Star was the latest game to be called off.

"The difficulties that we have encountered at the Belfast Loughshore Hotel Arena have been well documented," said Carrick Rangers on Tuesday.

"Despite the best efforts of the countless numbers of volunteers and a significant financial investment, we have made a difficult decision, in the best interest of Carrick Rangers Football Club, to temporarily adopt Seaview as our home venue.

"This will be a temporary switch while work continues on the pitch - we appreciate the inconvenience that this may cause some of our supporters in the short term."
