Guernsey FC boss Tony Vance says Sittingbourne win was 'what doctor ordered'

Guernsey FC kept their first clean sheet in three months in the win over Sittingbourne

Guernsey FC manager Tony Vance says his side's 3-0 Isthmian League Division One South victory over Sittingbourne was "just what the doctor ordered".

Ross Allen scored twice, with Ryan Zico-Black also on target, to end their club-record six-match losing streak.

"Some of the play was really nice and sublime - we could've scored some really good goals," Vance said.

"I'm pleased - we said it was very important they kept a clean sheet after conceding 12 goals in three games."

The Green Lions remain 11th in the table, seven points from the final play-off place with seven games remaining.

Vance is awaiting an update on Glyn Dyer's "nasty ankle injury", which forced him off.

"It's (the result) probably just what the doctor ordered," added Vance to BBC Radio Guernsey.

"At times we were a bit lucky but I don't think anyone can deny that we deserved to win the game and probably deserved to win it more handsomely.

"Can we build some momentum, that's the question - let's see where it takes us."
