Darren Ferguson: Doncaster Rovers boss laments poor Easter results

Doncaster boss Darren Ferguson has admitted his side are "in a really difficult situation" after losing to two relegation rivals over Easter.

Rovers are now four points adrift of League One safety after Monday's 1-0 defeat by fellow strugglers Blackpool.

Ferguson had called Friday's 4-1 loss at 23rd-placed Colchester "a complete embarrassment".

"It's been the worst possible Easter we could have had," he told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"It's 15 games without a win now and that's a horrendous record. There's been some really poor performances in that and, even today, when we have been in the ascendancy, we don't get the win.

"It was a must-win game and now we are in a really difficult situation - but we have to keep going and hoping we can get out of it."

The former Peterborough boss, who took over at the Keepmoat Stadium in October, refused to speak about his position after the defeat by the Tangerines.

Rovers travel to eighth-placed Rochdale on Saturday.
