Wrexham inflicted huge damage on Tranmere's promotion prospects with a late winner at Prenton Park.

Sean Newton headed home for Wrexham on 85 minutes. Kayden Jackson had given Gary Mills' men the lead before James Norwood equalised from the spot.

The hosts slip out of the play-off berths, leapfrogged by Braintree and Eastleigh with the prospect of extending the season looking remote for both sides now.

Wrexham are eighth, Tranmere seventh.

Wrexham are six points off the play-off berths on 69 points with two games remaining, three points behind Tranmere who have also played 44 fixtures.
