Gary Gardner's free-kick meant Wolves have now drawn six of their last nine matches

Gary Gardner's second-half free-kick earned Nottingham Forest a point as they were held at home by Wolves.

Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme produced a superb double save just before half-time to keep the game goalless.

After a quiet first half, Joe Mason put Wolves ahead with a curled left-footed effort from outside the box, which went in off the post.

Gardner levelled, lashing in a free-kick from the edge of the box after Henri Lansbury was fouled.

The first half had a distinct end-of-season feel to it, with neither side registering a shot on target until Ikeme was forced into action in added time to deny Daniel Fox and Gardner.

The second half was a far livelier affair, with Wolves captain Danny Batth having a header cleared off the line by Lansbury, before Wanderers midfielder Conor Coady fired wide from long range in the closing moments.

Nottingham Forest interim head coach Paul Williams: "It was a superb free-kick from Gary - and I did moan that Henri was not taking it, before he struck it.

"But we give ownership to the players over that kind of situation. Henri was meant to take it but, if Gary felt he had a good chance of scoring, then there is no problem.

"Henri was clearly big enough to think of the team. Happily so."

Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett: "Our players are motivated, they have not given up.

If you look at the age and experience they have, the majority of them are on the way up in their careers, rather than on the way down.

"That is a plus for us, but we do look as though we lack some nous and experience in this division. Some of the top sides have that and we do not."
