Luke Williams: Swindon Town boss on 'relief' at securing League One status

Swindon Town boss Luke Williams has spoken of his "relief" after his side mathematically ensured they will be playing in League One again next term.

The Robins beat Chesterfield on Saturday to move nine points clear of the relegation zone with two matches remaining, lying 16th in the table.

Victory was their first since Williams signed a five-year deal on 9 March.

"It is a relief. It is also pleasing, the manner in which we've played the last two games," he told BBC Wiltshire.

"It's as simple as having the best players all back together.

"With the two (remaining) games we want to maintain a high level of performance so the whole group can feel positive going into next season."

On-loan defender Jordan Turnbull added: "We all believed that we'd be challenging much higher in the table and doing much better things this season.

"The way it has turned out, it's good for the club to remain in the division."
