Huddersfield Town midfielder Dean Whitehead has been given a three-match suspension for violent conduct by the Football Association.

The 34-year-old was charged after an incident involving Brentford midfielder Nico Yennaris in the 81st minute of Town's 5-1 home defeat on Saturday.

The ex-Sunderland, Stoke City and Middlesbrough man will now miss the first three games of next season.

He made 34 league appearances during the 2015-16 campaign.
