Northern Ireland have reached an all-time high of 25th in the Fifa world rankings.

Michael O'Neill's team are about to make their European Championship debut, having last featured in a major finals at the 1986 World Cup.

Northern Ireland are now one place ahead of Wales, who drop two spots, while England slip one place to 11th and Scotland fall three to 43rd.

Argentina remain top of the rankings ahead of Belgium.

Wales and England are in the same group at Euro 2016, with the former having qualified for their first major competition since the 1958 World Cup.

The Republic of Ireland, who face a difficult Euro 2016 group with Belgium, Italy and Sweden, drop two places to 33rd.

Northern Ireland qualified as winners of Group F, finishing one point ahead of Romania after recording six victories, three draws and one defeat from their 10 qualification matches.

O'Neill was appointed Northern Ireland boss in December 2011 and signed a four-year contract extension in March after his side secured qualification.
