Fleetwood Town have signed 22-year-old goalkeeper Matt Urwin from non-league side AFC Fylde.

Urwin was part of the Fylde side which reached the first round of the FA Cup last season, where they lost 3-1 at League One club Millwall.

He also in goal for Fylde as they lost to North Ferriby United in the National League North play-offs last season.

Having begun his career at Blackburn, Urwin also had a spell at Bradford City where he played once as a substitute.

Fleetwood have not disclosed the length of Urwin's deal, as he becomes third goalkeeper to join the Cod Army this summer following Chris Neal and Alex Cairns.

"It is a new look goalkeeping department and I can't wait for the start of pre-season," Urwin told the club website.

"I will work hard and see where it takes me at Fleetwood. I have to do my best and hopefully it will take me where I want to end up."
