Plymouth Argyle manager Derek Adams says talks are 'going well' with the club's out-of-contract players.

Adams has offered deals to 13 of the squad that lost the League Two play-off final to AFC Wimbledon at Wembley.

However, defender Peter Hartley has left for Bristol Rovers.

"They have until the end of June to come back with an answer to the contract we've put in front of them. Some of them have and we'll hopefully have news very soon," Adams said.

Among the players offered new deals are captain Curtis Nelson, goalkeeper Luke McCormick, highly-rated defensive midfielder Carl McHugh and striker Reuben Reid.

The 40-year-old has already boosted his squad by bringing in former Blackburn defender Yann Songo'o and Cambridge United midfielder Ryan Donaldson.

"It's a time where it's difficult because they have the 28 days to accept or reject the contract," Adams told BBC Sport.

"But it hasn't stopped me going out and recruiting new players for the season ahead."
