Curtis Nelson: Plymouth Argyle turn down 'derisory' Barnsley offer for captain

Plymouth Argyle have confirmed they turned down a "derisory" offer from newly-promoted Championship side Barnsley for captain Curtis Nelson.
The 23-year-old centre back is out of contract at the end of the month, but has been offered a new deal.
As he is under the age of 24, the Devon side are entitled to compensation for the ex-Stoke trainee if he leaves.
"We can confirm that we have rejected a derisory offer from Barnsley for the player," said a club statement., external
"Curtis remains under contract to us and any approach to him without our approval would be in contravention of EFL (English Football League) rules."
