Sam Habergham: Former Braintree Town left-back joins Lincoln City

Sam Habergham joined Braintree in July 2012, making 170 league appearances for the club

Lincoln have signed left-back Sam Habergham on a two-year deal after he rejected a new contract with Braintree.

Habergham, 24, made 47 National League appearances last term to help Braintree make the play-offs, where they suffered defeat by Grimsby in the semi-finals.

He is the second ex-Iron player to join Lincoln since manager Danny Cowley left Braintree to take charge of the Imps.

Midfielder Alex Woodyard, 23, made the move from Cressing Road to Sincil Bank earlier in June.
