Gateshead have signed midfielder Mitch Brundle from Braintree Town on a one-year deal.
The 21-year old scored Braintree's third goal in their 3-2 victory over Gateshead in April.
"I have taken a punt to move up from London but I wanted to join a club that would be in and around the play-offs," Brundle told the club website, external.
"Being in the play-offs against Grimsby for Braintree was a real buzz and I want more of that at Gateshead."
He spent two years at Yeovil Town as a teenager before a year at Bristol City, during which he made seven Football League appearances while on loan to Cheltenham Town.
"Brundle is a player who can play in a number of positions," said Gateshead manager Neil Aspin. "That can sometimes work against you but for us it's ideal."
"He can play at full-back, in midfield and in a more advanced role. He is another in the squad with great potential and the ability to make an impact."
Brundle made 87 appearances during his time at Braintree and is keen to establish his presence as a central midfielder.
"I want to develop my game in my strongest position in the middle of the park," he added.
Brundle is Gateshead's 12th signing of the summer.
