Blair Adams: Cambridge sign former Notts County left-back

Blair Adams said he played his "best football to date" under Shaun Derry at Notts County

Cambridge United have signed former Notts County left-back Blair Adams on a one-year contract.

The 24-year-old played under Cambridge manager Shaun Derry at Meadow Lane, and was released by the Magpies this summer after making 55 appearances.

The ex-Sunderland trainee also had a 15-game loan at Mansfield last season.

"Blair is a real composed left-back who knows all about the way I want to work and vice versa," Derry told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"He has been fantastic to come in and prove to us that he is more than capable of getting a contract and he's impressed everybody.

"I signed him while I was manager of Notts County, he did really well for us, is a real reliable person and I'm delighted that he's here."
