David Wheater: Bolton Wanderers re-sign defender on one-year deal

David Wheater made 29 appearances for Bolton last season as they were relegated from the Championship

Bolton Wanderers centre-back David Wheater has rejoined the League One side on a one-year contract.

Wheater, whose contract expired in May, has agreed a new performance-based deal after impressing in pre-season.

The 29-year-old has made 118 appearances for the Trotters since joining from Middlesbrough in 2011.

Manager Phil Parkinson told the club's website, external: "He has shown a real desire to help get the club going again. We're delighted to bring David back"
