Danny Hollands: Crewe Alexandra sign ex-Portsmouth midfielder

Crewe Alexandra have signed former Bournemouth and Portsmouth midfielder Danny Hollands on a five-month deal running until 19 January.

The 30-year-old made 219 appearances for the Cherries in a five-year spell for the club between 2006 and 2011.

After 94 appearances for Pompey, he left in the summer, having turned down a new contract with the club.

Hollands will go into Steve Davis's squad for Saturday's League Two trip to Newport County.
