Ryan Sessegnon: Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic keen to keep teenager

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic hopes he can keep hold of teenage left-back Ryan Sessegnon, who is the subject of interest from Premier League clubs.

Sessegnon made his full league debut for the Whites against Leeds on Tuesday, aged 16 years and 88 days.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham are all reported to be monitoring the defender.

"He is a very interesting project as a player, but it is better not to put him under any pressure," Jokanovic said.

The Serb, speaking to BBC Radio London, added: "He is a young player and he will participate in the future and help us. He has many years of being a player ahead of him."

The Evening Standard reported this week that Fulham have valued Sessegnon at well over £3m.

Sessegnon joined Fulham at under-nine level and he was a regular for the west London club's under-18 side last season at the age of 15.

The Wandsworth-born England Under-17 international made his first-team debut for Fulham against Leyton Orient in the EFL Cup last week.

"It is not a question of if someone is 16 or 36," said former Watford manager Jokanovic.

"If you are ready to play football, it is not important how old you are. Leeds was the first time he played in the Championship and he did a very good job."
