John Brayford: Sheffield United defender rejoins Burton Albion on loan

John Brayford made 79 league appearances for Burton before leaving to join Crewe Alexandra in September 2008

Defender John Brayford has returned to Burton Albion on loan from Sheffield United, eight years after he last played for the Brewers in non-league.

The 28-year-old moves back to the Pirelli Stadium with the Brewers now in England's second tier.

Brayford links up with manager Nigel Clough for the fourth time, having previously played under him at Burton, Derby and Sheffield United.

"When we heard he was available it was a no-brainer to sign him," said Clough.
