Fans, players and club officials will be ready for one of the busiest days of the 2016-17 football season when the summer transfer window closes on Wednesday, 31 August.

Managers will be looking to make final additions to their squads before the deadline passes at 23:00 BST in England and midnight in Scotland.

The BBC has several ways for you to keep up to date with all the latest deals, speculation and analysis on what could potentially be a frantic climax to the transfer window.

For those of you following deadline day both home and abroad, follow our live text commentary from 07:00 BST until the window closes on your computer, tablet or phone via the BBC Sport website or app.

Mark Chapman will host a four-hour deadline-day special on BBC Radio 5 live from 19:00 to 23:00 BST. He will be joined by Jermaine Jenas, Danny Murphy, Chris Sutton, Charlie Adam and Danny Mills who will give their expert take on the day's biggest moves.

Rory Smith, chief football writer of the New York Times, and European football expert Andy Brassell will also be in the studio to analyse the major storylines.

There will also be regular transfer updates on the BBC's national and regional radio stations while the Sports Today programme on the BBC World Service is at 16:32 BST.

His guests are Jenas and Murphy, who will look back at the transfer window and run the rule over the main talking points.

There will be regular transfer news on national and regional television programmes as well as BBC World News, which will have updates at 18:30, 22:30 and 01.45 BST.
