Godswill Ekpolo: Former Barcelona defender joins Fleetwood Town

Godswill Ekpolo captained Barcelona's under-21 side

Fleetwood Town have signed former Barcelona youngster Godswill Ekpolo.

The 21-year-old Nigerian, who can play at right-back or centre-back, played for the Spanish giants' B team last season.

Ekpolo spent 11 years in the La Liga side's youth system and has been on trial at Highbury Stadium for the past two weeks.

He was named in the League One club's starting line-up for their FA Cup first-round tie at Southport on Monday.

Fleetwood have not disclosed the length of Ekpolo's deal.
