Huddersfield Town progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a comfortable win over Port Vale.
The Terriers took the lead when midfielder Jack Payne finished well after a neat move.
Kasey Palmer's deflected strike put the hosts in control before Harry Bunn curled home a lovely shot and Payne tapped home his second.
Jerome Thomas had Vale's best chance but fired over the crossbar from outside the area when it was 1-0.
Huddersfield are fourth in the Championship but had not scored more than two goals in a game this season.
They dominated throughout and could have had more against a limited Vale outfit, with Phillip Billing having a goal ruled out for offside and debutant Izzy Brown going close.
Victory against the League One side gave Town boss David Wagner his first win in a cup competition since taking over at the John Smith's Stadium in November 2015.
Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner:
"It certainly feels special. It was my first cup win and it was a long time coming.
"I think we did everything that could be expected in a cup match at home for a team in the Championship against one from League One.
"We controlled the game and speeded it up when we needed to and were patient and got the goals."
Port Vale caretaker manager Michael Brown:
"I am disappointed.
"The gameplan was for us to be still in it with 65-70 minutes gone but the deflection meant it was game over.
"Huddersfield are going well and are a good team in the Championship. In the second half they brought on some fantastic subs and it was men against boys after that."
