Guernsey FC boss Tony Vance says the club will not extend Jake Andrews' loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old has scored five goals in five games for the Green Lions since joining from Bristol City and recently extended his deal.

"We're not allowed to," Vance told BBC Radio Guernsey when asked if he could extend his deal until May.

"He's a professional footballer and he needs to go and earn that opportunity higher up," added Vance.

Andrews is one of three Bristol City players who have joined the Green Lions on loan since an agreement was set up between the clubs thanks to City's Guernsey-based chairman Steve Lansdown.

"We're here just to help him, and he's helping us," added Vance.

"He had offers to go to a higher place to learn his trade a little bit more, but he wanted to stay here and that's an amazing compliment to our football club."
