Forward Tom Lawrence has withdrawn from Wales' squad for Friday's World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland because of injury.

The 23-year-old is currently on loan at Championship side Ipswich from Leicester City.

Lawrence has been in fine form this season, scoring 11 goals in 33 appearances for the Tractor Boys in all competitions.

He is replaced in the Wales squad by Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.

Wilson, 19, became Wales' youngest senior international in 2013 when he came on against Belgium aged 16 years and 207 days.
