Fabio Borini: Sunderland striker joins AC Milan on initial loan
- Published
Sunderland striker Fabio Borini has joined Italian giants AC Milan on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
The 26-year-old, capped once by Italy in 2012, scored two goals in 26 appearances last season as Sunderland were relegated to the Championship.
The Black Cats signed Borini for £10m from Liverpool in 2015, following a loan spell during the 2013-14 season.
The former Swansea and Roma player made 93 appearances in total for Sunderland and scored 17 goals.
Milan, who finished sixth in Serie A last season, say they have an "obligation to buy" Borini after the loan spell.
