Wales were beaten 2-0 by an experienced Portugal side in their second European Championship qualifying match.

Wales opened their campaign with a 3-0 win in Switzerland on Friday but could not match the feat against a side featuring new Swan Renato Sanches.

Joe Rodon's foul on Goncalo Guedes allowed Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves to score from the spot before Gil Dias fed Guedes for the second goal.

Manchester United defender Regan Poole hit the woodwork for Wales on the hour.

Brentford's Chris Mepham was sent off for two bookable offences, ensuring Wales finished the match with ten men.
