Solihull Moors 1-2 Hartlepool United

  • Published

Hartlepool made it six wins in nine games to ruin Richard Money's first game in charge of Solihull.

The Moors enjoyed the better of the first half, Darren Carter firing inches over and Dapo Afolayan forcing Hartlepool goalkeeper Scott Loach into a decent save.

Loach tipped a George Carline header onto the bar on the stroke of half-time, but the home side then found themselves a goal down from the first attack of the second half.

Hartlepool's two half-time substitutes made an immediate impact, Jack Munns crossing for striker Rhys Oates to turn the ball home.

Solihull thought they had rescued a point from the penalty spot with four minutes remaining, Carter scoring after Carl Magnay had brought down Moors sub Richard Brodie.

But there was late drama as a Munns free-kick was flicked on and Jonathan Franks snatched a last-gasp Pools winner to fore them up to 13th place in the table.
