Swindon kept their League Two promotion challenge on track by winning at in-form Port Vale.

The hosts had won their last three games but goals from Matt Taylor and substitutes Paul Mullin and Kellan Gordon sealed all three points for the Robins.

Swindon had a goal ruled out after 13 minutes when Keshi Anderson was judged offside after tapping in Taylor;s free-kick off the post.

Vale came close 10 minutes before half-time when top scorer Tom Pope was fouled on the edge of the area and David Worrall shot the resulting free-kick over.

But, on 51 minutes, Taylor put the Robins ahead with a 25-yard free-kick which sailed into the top left corner.

Swindon doubled their lead five minutes later when Mullin stabbed a shot home in front of debutant home keeper Dimitar Evtimov.

Four minutes from time Swindon made it three when substitute Timi Elsnik countered, feeding the ball through to Harry Smith, who squared to substitute Gordon to score with his first touch.
