Ben Tozer scored his first goal in more than a year to give Newport County victory at Swindon.
The defender connected powerfully to head home Matty Dolan's outswinging corner, giving the Exiles their first win in five games.
Swindon fall out of the play-off places to eighth, two points above Newport.
Joss Labadie picked up his fifth yellow card of the season, ruling the Newport captain out of next weekend's FA Cup second-round tie with Cambridge United.
In a cagey first half of few clear-cut chances, Keshi Anderson curled wide for the hosts early on before Labadie twice shot over the bar for the visitors.
Newport's top scorer Shawn McCoulsky almost gave the Exiles the lead just after the hour mark, but the on-loan forward's fierce drive flew just wide.
After the visitors had broken the deadlock on 76 minutes, Matt Preston smacked the bar in stoppage time for Swindon, but Newport survived the late onslaught.
Newport County manager Mike Flynn told BBC Radio Wales: "I did enjoy it... that was an excellent away performance.
"We addressed a few problems on and off the pitch and the boys have responded and done exactly what I asked them to do.
"There's been a lot of errors in the last three games when we have concede, but I think you saw today that the boys didn't make many at all. I thought they were outstanding every one of them."
