CSKA Moscow keeper Igor Akinfeev kept his first clean sheet in the Champions League for more than 11 years as his side beat Benfica 2-0.

Russia keeper Akinfeev, 31, had conceded in all of his last 43 games in the competition, excluding qualifiers.

The last team to fail to score past him in the Champions League was Arsenal in a 0-0 draw on 1 November 2006.

Georgy Schennikov's strike and a Jardel own goal saw CSKA stay third in Group A with one game to go.

Rivals Basel defeated Manchester United to remain above the Russian side because of their better head-to-head record.
