Antonio Caracciolo gave Verona the perfect start in Sunday's early kick-off

AC Milan suffered their second embarrassing result in a month as they fell to a heavy defeat at Verona.

Milan, who spent more than £210m on transfers in the summer, drew against previously pointless side Benevento and on Sunday conceded three against the side that had been second to bottom.

Antonio Caracciolo headed Verona in front with Moise Kean and Daniel Bessa scoring after the break.

Milan's Suso was sent off in stoppage time for a stamp on Daniele Verde.

The 18-time Serie A champions and seven-time European Cup winners are seventh in the table, 14 points behind fourth-placed Roma.

Verona, on the other hand, moved out of the bottom three with their third win of the season.

Elsewhere in Serie A, defending champions Juventus moved up to second with a 3-0 win at Bologna.

Miralem Pjanic opened the scoring with a superb free-kick in the first half before setting up Mario Mandzukic to stroke in a second.

Blaise Matuidi's half-volley in the second half wrapped up the comfortable win for Juventus, who are a point behind leaders Napoli.
