Mohamed Eisa's 10th goal of the season salvaged a point for Cheltenham against Newport County.

Padraig Amond had put Exiles ahead with a looping header over Scott Flinders in the 55th minute.

But the prolific Eisa controlled superbly before curling a shot past Joe Day to equalise 13 minutes from time.

Both teams pressed for a winner with Cheltenham appealing when Day went perilously close to carrying the ball over the goal-line late on.

Newport drop one place to 11th with Cheltenham remaining 15th in the League Two table.

Newport manager Mike Flynn: "I thought we created enough chances to win the game. We need to take them and kill teams off and be ruthless.

"I thought we were the better team but fair play to Cheltenham they came back and made it difficult.

"But their goalkeeper was voted man of the match and that says everything."
