Padraig Amond celebrates his goal against Exeter

Exeter City dropped three places to seventh as Newport County celebrated Robbie Willmott's spectacular 30-yard winner at Rodney Parade.

Padraig Amond's classy header put the hosts in front early on and Jason Stockley replied to level after the break.

Willmott's 66th-minute strike put the Exiles back in front and they held on for victory.

Newport stay 11th in the table, three points off the play-offs.

Newport boss Mike Flynn told BBC Sport Wales: "It was an outstanding performance form the boys, especially the first half where we just completely dominated.

"The first 10 minutes of the second half we looked like we'd been on the drink at half time because we started slowly, but after conceding we knuckled down again, got back on top and thankfully we got the winner."
