Barrow 1-1 Tranmere Rovers

  • Published

James Norwood scored in the third minute of stoppage time to snatch Tranmere a point at Barrow.

The home side made the perfect start with Byron Harrison scoring from the penalty spot in the fourth minute after Grant Holt had been fouled.

Tranmere striker Norwood was denied by home goalkeeper Joel Dixon, while at the other end Holt saw a header superbly tipped over by Rhys Taylor.

Larnell Cole should have done better for Rovers when through on goal and Barrow's Bedsente Gomis hit the crossbar with a looping effort just before the break.

Dixon made a smart double save from Norwood and Andy Cook before Rovers defender Adam Buxton left the field on a stretcher.

That stoppage meant there were nine minutes of time added on and Tranmere made the most of it as Norwood poked home at the back post.
