Teenager Aramide Oteh scored his first senior goal to helped Queens Park Rangers overcome Burton for the first time.

Oteh, in his first start for the R's, latched on to Darnell Furlong's knockdown put them ahead, only for Lloyd Dyer to level from close range.

Conor Washington hit the post after the break, but eventually added a second for QPR after rounding Stephen Bywater.

Massimo Luongo then swapped passes with Washington before sliding in the third.

QPR had failed to beat Burton in four previous attempts, a run that included being knocked out in the second round of the League Cup in August 2014 when the R's were still a Premier League side and the Brewers were playing three divisions below them.

Victory came just a week after their FA Cup exit to League One side MK Dons and lifted Ian Holloway's side up to 14th in the table.

Defeat left Burton third from bottom and without a home win in 10 games, dating back to 16 September.

Burton Albion boss Nigel Clough told BBC Radio Derby: "We didn't play well enough and QPR deservedly won the game.

"We hung on in there and came in 1-1 at half-time, which we probably didn't deserve, but we were and we should have then gone on and got something from the game.

"But if we keep giving the ball away in certain areas of the pitch like we did today, then any team in the Championship is going to punish you.

"It's difficult to explain [why], when we've been so good in the last half a dozen games, we played nowhere near it today. It's not about formations or anything like that - it's just about the players doing better at home than they are at the moment."

QPR boss Ian Holloway said: "I thought our performance was excellent.

"We raised a few eyebrows by playing Rem in the team. I felt it was about changing the balance of the team. I thought Conor had taken not playing in the team very well and he looked really sharp. I wanted to throw Burton a different challenge.

"Burton had to change their shape because we were dominating things. Unfortunately we missed a couple of opportunities and then when we did score they scored far too quickly for my liking.

"We have a very big club and a very big set-up, and my job is to try and bring us all together. But today I will be going away from here absolutely delighted with everything."
