Forest Green Rovers 5-2 Cambridge United

Dayle Grubb scored a brace on his home debut as Forest Green twice fought back to beat Cambridge.

The U's netted within three minutes when Uche Ikpeazu threaded through George Maris to tuck home the opener, but Forest Green marksman Christian Doidge levelled with his 18th goal of the season.

Cambridge were back ahead soon after when Medy Elito got to the byline before shooting into the opposite corner.

Grubb levelled just before the break with his first Football League goal. A well-worked move saw the ball come back to the midfielder inside the box to slide home a finish into the bottom corner.

The 26-year-old former sports teacher sealed the victory with a goal to remember, collecting the ball outside the box before rocketing a shot into the top corner.

Doidge sealed the points with his side's fourth goal eight minutes from time by capitalising on a goalkeeper error, before debutant Tahvon Campbell made it five in stoppage-time.
