Yeovil Town 1-2 Chesterfield

  • Published

Substitute Kristian Dennis scored a controversial stoppage-time winner as Chesterfield pipped Yeovil in League Two.

After a drab first half, the visitors took the lead through a Glovers error when a lack of communication from Bevis Mugabi and Jordan Green saw Chris O'Grady fouled, and Louis Reed stepped up to convert the resulting free-kick from 20 yards.

From nothing Yeovil were level when Lewis Wing, having come on 11 minutes earlier, received possession from 25 yards and sent a looping shot over the hapless Aaron Ramsdale.

Yet as the hosts pushed for a second, Otis Khan felt he was fouled when his shirt was pulled, but nothing was given. The ball was lofted straight up-field, allowing Dennis to turn Artur Krysiak and score into the empty net in the third minute of stoppage-time.

In the aftermath, Khan shoved referee Kevin Johnson and received a straight red card.
