Roque Mesa: Sevilla sign Swansea City midfielder on loan deal

Swansea City have confirmed midfielder Roque Mesa will join Sevilla on loan until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has made 16 appearances for Swansea following his £11m summer switch from Las Palmas which includes nine Premier League starts.

But Mesa has only played in one league game since Carlos Carvalhal was appointed manager in December 2017.

That was the 2-1 win against Watford in Carvalhal's first game in charge.

Sevilla are sixth in La Liga, and have reached the Copa del Rey semi-finals after beating Atletico Madrid in the last eight.

The Spanish side faces Manchester United in the Champions League next month.
