Torquay United 3-4 Guiseley

  • Published

Bottom side Guiseley held off a Torquay fightback to win a thriller between two relegated sides in the National League.

Guiseley got off to a terrible start at Plainmoor as Harry Flowers was sent off for pulling back Elliott Romain to concede a penalty after three minutes.

But Joe Green saved Romain's spot-kick and the visitors took the lead two minutes later through Dayle Southwell.

Rhys Healey equalised but Will Hatfield restored Guiseley's lead and Rowan Liburd added a third.

Healey's second 18 minutes from time gave the Gulls hope but Liburd added another before Healey completed his hat-trick with a late consolation.
