Renato Sanches has 'no chance' of going to World Cup - Carvalhal

Swansea City manager Carlos Carvalhal has told Portugal's Renato Sanches to forget playing in the World Cup this summer.
The on-loan Bayern Munich midfielder starred in his country's Euro 2016 triumph.
But he only returned to training this week after recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered against Notts County in January.
Carvalhal said: "I don't think he has any chance of going to the World Cup."
"I told him to put expectations down, they have a lot of very good players - he is part of group - but has missed lot of games."
Sanches has only started nine Premier League games for relegation-threatened Swansea and will not be available for Sunday's game away to champions Manchester City as he seeks match fitness.
Carvalhal said he had talked to his fellow countryman about his World Cup ambitions in order to protect the youngster.
"He was disappointed, but this is football," he said.
"I spoke with him because I understand if he is training with adrenaline because he thinks he can go to World Cup, the probability of being injured again is very high.
"I prefer to tell him my feelings, to put expectation down to be more solid and to recover and to be fit again.
"That must be his first challenge, to be fit and in physical condition to play. It would not be easy without games to be fit to play. It is a big distance between expectation and reality."
Sanches time at Swansea 'a failure'
Sanches' time at Swansea has been a "failure" according to former Wales striker Iwan Roberts.
"For one reason or another, I think at times he's tried too hard, and it has been a failure," he said.
"We were all really excited when Paul Clement brought him in. We all remember his performances for Portugal in the European Championships; the bright youngster coming through who got his big move to Bayern Munich."
Carlos Carvalhal has insisted Sanches could still play a part in their final five games, however Roberts said he does not expect the Portuguese midfielder to feature.
"It cost Swansea a great deal of money to draw him from Bayern Munich," said Roberts.
"But he won't be anywhere near match fit and I can't see him having any part to play in the final five games."
Swans to give guard of honour
Dutch winger Luciano Narsingh is also ruled out of the Sunday's game at the Etihad Stadium after hobbling off at half time in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Everton with an ankle problem.
But the Swans hope to have midfielder Sam Clucas available following a knee injury.
Though 17th placed, Swansea are desperate to gain more points to move away from the relegation zone.
They will pay due respect to newly crowned champions Manchester City before the game.
Carvalhal congratulated the club and said: "They deserve to be champions. They are the best team in the competition, the numbers represent not just the football but also that they deserve to be champions.
"We will be proud to do the guard of honour for them on Sunday because, with justice, they are the champions this season.
"They are the best team and they play fantastic football."
