Tranmere Rovers beat Ebbsfleet United in extra-time to reach the National League promotion final for the second successive season.

Rovers, who twice came from behind during the first 90 minutes, will face either Sutton United or Boreham Wood at Wembley on 12 May.

Tranmere lost to Forest Green in last season's promotion final and are aiming to return to League Two after a two-year absence.

Luke Coulson's header had given Ebbsfleet a first-half lead, but James Norwood quickly replied with an angled shot.

Myles Weston rolled the ball into an empty net after a defensive mix-up to restore Ebbsfleet's advantage, before Josh Ginnelly's effort from the edge of the box forced extra-time.

The exertions of Fleet's penalty shootout win over Aldershot three days earlier began to show, and they fell behind for the first time when Norwood fired a superb free-kick into the top corner.

Larnell Cole's powerful shot found the net to make it 4-2, before Fleet defender Dave Winfield was sent off following a scuffle involving almost every player on the field.
