Daniel James: Swansea City deny they 'made no attempt to keep' Wales wing

Swansea City have denied claims by Daniel James' agent that the club "made no attempt to keep the player".
Leeds United's proposed loan move for the Swansea wing fell through in the closing minutes of the January transfer window.
Swansea opted to back out of the deal with a late-night U-turn and will renew efforts to get the Wales international to sign a new contract.
Swansea say they are keen to keep James beyond the expiration of his deal.
However, the winger's agent, David Manasseh, told BBC Sport Wales: "Swansea made no attempt to keep the player and at the first sign of money they couldn't show him the door quickly enough. It is very disappointing but the player is philosophical about it."
A Swansea City spokesman said: "The claims from his agent are completely incorrect, and we are extremely disappointed with these comments."
James, 21, had a medical before a potential loan switch to Elland Road.
Leeds would have made the deal for the winger permanent in the summer for about £8.5m, dependent on promotion.
However, talks collapsed late on Thursday, meaning James will now return to Swansea.
Swansea opted to end negotiations following discussions regarding the structure of the deal.
It is understood Leeds wanted to defer the initial loan fee until the summer, while the proposed permanent transfer fee following potential promotion, would have been spread out over as much as three years.
It is believed Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins felt he was not prepared to accept the terms and brought a halt to discussions. Swansea insist James, whose current Liberty Stadium deal runs until 2020, has been offered a new contract.
Leroy Fer also stays at Swansea
The collapse of James's proposed move was not the only late twist at Swansea.
Leroy Fer had appeared to be heading for Aston Villa on a permanent transfer but he will be staying at the Liberty Stadium.
Fer, Swansea's captain, has six months remaining on his deal and will now see out the season in South Wales, though there has been little indication of him signing a new contract to date.
Instead it was fellow Swansea midfielder Tom Carroll who made the move to Villa Park on an initial loan deal.
