Morecambe 0-2 Lincoln City
- Published
Two goals from Bruno Andrade inspired Lincoln to their first win in five games as they beat Morecambe 2-0 at the Globe Arena.
Andrade added to the two goals he scored against Stevenage last week with another brace to give the League Two leaders a welcome win after four successive draws.
Andrade's first came in the 11th minute. The ball found its way to him on the right and he curled a superb effort into the top corner of the Morecambe goal.
Danny Cowley's side went close to doubling their advantage in the 24th minute when John Akinde deflected Danny Rowe's corner against the right post before Andrade had a shot that was deflected just wide.
Morecambe came into it towards the end of the half with Steven Old's cross just too high for Richie Bennett and Jordan Cranston forcing Matt Gilks into a save from a deflected long-range free-kick.
The home side's hopes of a comeback were dashed by Andrade's second after 57 minutes. Akinde's bustling run into the box ended with the ball falling to Andrade, who saw his first effort well blocked by Luke Conlan before slotting the rebound under Mark Halstead.
Morecambe put the leaders under pressure, with a late Ritchie Sutton effort being scrambled off the line, but Lincoln held on.
