Accrington Stanley 5-1 Plymouth Argyle

Sean McConville scored a hat-trick as Accrington Stanley's thrashing of Plymouth guaranteed their League One status and left the Pilgrims in the bottom four with one game to go.

Billy Kee gave Accrington the lead with a penalty, after a foul on Jordan Clark.

But then McConville overtook his team-mate as the club's top scorer in the league thanks to his treble.

The wide man's first came courtesy of a deflected free-kick, after he had been fouled on the edge of the box.

McConville rounded off a superb move for his second, with Kee, Clark and Dan Barlaser involved in catching Plymouth on the counter-attack.

Clark laid the ball off for McConville to finish well just before the break.

The two combined again for McConville's third early in the second half, which he curled beyond Matt Macey for his 14th of the season.

Luke Armstrong wrapped it up from close range in the 66th minute before a Harvey Rodgers own goal gave Plymouth a little late consolation.
