Brentford have brought in forward Bryan Mbeumo from French Ligue 2 side Troyes AC and Southend midfielder Dru Yearwood for undisclosed fees.
Mbeumo, 19, has signed a five-year contract, having scored 12 goals in 45 appearances over two seasons and also played for the France Under-20 side.
Yearwood, also 19, joins on a four-year deal with the option of an extra year, having played 61 games in two seasons.
The pair could feature in Saturday's Championship trip to Middlesbrough.
"Bryan is exactly the sort of player we want at Brentford," head coach Thomas Frank said.
"He is quick, he is direct, he can beat people attacking one-on-one, he can arrive late in the penalty area and he can score goals.
"Dru has the qualities we want in a midfield player at Brentford. He is very good at getting around the pitch and does the work we want in terms of pressing and winning the ball back."
